The historical work of the Russian-born migration researcher Dr Inna Ganschow describes the migrations from Russia to Luxembourg in the 20th and 21st centuries. The broad representation of the migration flows between the two countries is illustrated with a lot of data and facts and with numerous, often previously unpublished documents and pictures. A large number of individual and family fates are described, which can be traced to this day in the Luxembourg population. It is the first comprehensive publication on this subject.

This article examines the life and career of Pierre Pescatore, one of the most prominent, but also controversial, promoters of European Community law. Drawing on extensive archive material, as well as interviews with relatives, it aims at understanding how and why he left such a strong footprint on the development of Community, later EU, law, both as a judge at the European Court of Justice and as a law scholar. Il s’agit de la première cause de mortalité après les maladies cardiovasculaires, et ses conséquences sur notre santé, sur nos systèmes de santé et sur nos économies sont dévastatrices. Or, plus de 40 % des cas de cancer pourraient être évités.

Developed by USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education, the IWalk is an interactive educational program that connects concrete physical locations with memories of historical events that took place at those locations. It is currently concentrating on Europe and the US. People walking through the different tours use tablet computers to watch clips of Holocaust survivors and witnesses telling personal stories about the role of the locations in their experiences. The clips are drawn from their testimonies in the USC Shoah Foundation’s Visual History Archive.

This special issue is the result of an open call launched two years ago in connection with the activities of the Robert Schuman Initiative, led at the University of Luxembourg by Prof. David Howarth. Our call for papers invited scholars to historically analyse the relationship between the EU single market and the internet from a critical perspective. This interdisciplinary issue mainly analyses how the development of the Internet has created major regulatory challenges at the EU level.

In this podcast episode, Andreas Fickers, co-author of the book ‘Communicating Europe’, reflects on the transformation of the radio as a communication space in Europe. This episode introduces the story of Hans, who in the 1930s listened to the entire European continent by using nothing but his radio. It illustrates the new possibilities and excitement that came with the radio being introduced as a new communication technology in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century.
