Under the supervision of Prof. Dr Karin Priem, Irma Hadžalić successfully presented her doctoral thesis “Transatlantic Iron Corpornations: The Expansion of Luxembourg's Steel Industry to Brazil and the Emergence of Industry-Related Social Welfare in Minas Gerais, ca. 1910-1965”, which is a part of the FAMOSO (Fabricating Modern Societies) – 2 project, in October 2018 at the University of Luxembourg. Irma previously studied Roman languages and literature at the University of Sarajevo and sociolinguistics and applied linguistics at the University of Luxembourg. She is also a president of RIFF asbl, a Luxembourg-based non-profit association dedicated to the promotion of intercultural dialogue through arts.
She left the C²DH in October 2018.
