Angela R. Cunningham holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Colorado- Boulder (2019) and an MSc-R in Geographic Information Sciences and Society from the University of Edinburgh (2010). Her doctoral dissertation traced the trajectories of thousands of American Great War soldiers through their service from their prewar to postwar lives, and mapped emergent veteran populations, arguing the need to expand and deepen critical military geography's purview beyond a myopic focus on wartime battlefields. As a research assistant at CU-Boulder's Institute of Behavioral Science, she contributed to projects using complete count historical census data to analyse patterns of neighborhood change and environmentally-driven migration.
Dr. Cunningham was working on the DHARPA project led by Professor Sean Takats.
