Aliénor Gandanger of the University of Luxembourg and Rachel Beck of the University of Limerick (Ireland) are proud to organise a webinar exploring the confluence of history and webcomic-making. The participants are all creators of historical comics and webcomics. The purpose of the webinar is for us to share our experiences, but not only that - we are also endeavouring to develop ‘history and webcomics’ as a field of study in its own right. By bringing the participants together, we hope to encourage collaboration between creator-historians and (academic) public historians. This event is unique in that it is the first time history-based webcomics have come under theoretical scrutiny.
