After completing her master's degree at the University of Brussels in contemporary history on colonization in Congo, Yasmina began her doctoral thesis at the Zentrum für Antisemitismusforschung (Technische Universität Berlin) and at the Centre Marc Bloch Berlin. Her dissertation focused on anti-Semitism in Belgium and the criminalization of foreign Jews in the period 1880-1930. In 2019 she did a postdoctoral research at the Académie royale de Belgique on the restitution of cultural heritage from the colonial context, which resulted in the publication of a report commissioned by the French-speaking government of Brussels. One year later, she was invited to the Swiss Forum for Migration at the University of Neuchâtel for a postdoctoral fellowship on the expulsion of foreigners in the interwar period in Belgium.
At the same time, she was involved in the writing of a report commissioned by the government of the Brussels-Capital Region on the decolonization of the public space. She participates in numerous conferences on postcolonial issues and on the question of anti-Semitism.
Recently she followed a training in provenance research at the Museum d’ethnographie de Neuchâtel (CH).
She joined the C²DH in June 2023 to work on the spoliation of Jewish property during World War II in Luxembourg under the direction of Prof. Andreas Fickers.
