Sofia Papastamkou earned a degree in history from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, before pursuing her studies in France. She holds a MA and PhD in history of international relations from the University Paris 1-Sorbonne, and a MA on digital technologies applied to history from the Ecole nationale des chartes, Paris, France. She has worked at the museum and the archives of the La Contemporaine library, Nanterre, France, and as assistant research engineer for the CNRS at the Maison européenne des sciences de l'homme et de la société and the University of Lille. She is editor for the Programming Historian and managing editor of its francophone version. Sofia joined the C²DH to work on further developing the Ranke.2 project, a teaching platform on source criticism applied to digitised and digital born historical sources. Initiated by Andreas Fickers and conceived by Stefania Scagliola, Ranke.2 is part of the public history and outreach area headed by Stefan Krebs
