Eliane Schmid is a member of the digital research center, C²DH, and the Digital History Advanced Research Projects Accelerator (DHARPA) team, working under the co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Sean Takats (Université du Luxembourg) and Prof. Dr. Ing. Carola Hein (TU Delft).
Eliane’s PhD project, centering on the development of public parks and playgrounds during the Postwar period (1945-1973), addresses three key topics: history of public urban green spaces (PUGS), Digital History, and public outreach.
Eliane completed her Master studies in History and Philosophy of Knowledge (focus: Global History) at ETH Zurich with Honors, and previously did her Bachelor studies at the University of Zurich (History and English Literature). Her research uses the analytical framework of History of Space and Human Geography while applying GIS. Eliane also focuses on Body, Social, and Intellectual History to analyze who used and who planned PUGS, and how.
