Ghislain Sillaume is Project Coordinator – Research Support at the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (University of Luxembourg). He holds a Master’s degree in Business Informatics from the University of Nancy, France, where he was awarded a prize in multimedia design. He began his career in 1998 as a software engineer by working in IT consultancy in the industrial, institutional and banking sectors before joining the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE), Luxembourg, in 2003. There, he has been developing partnerships and research proposals in the fields of European integration studies and digital humanities and ensuring the follow-up of a portfolio of competitive projects. For the past 15 years, Ghislain has been involved in a wide range of projects under the EU’s FP6, CIP-ICT-PSP, FP7 and H2020 programmes as well as in some of the activities of W3C, Europeana Network and European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA). His particular field of interest is the smart use of information technologies for social, organisational and individual empowerment.
