The First Member State Rebellion? The European Court of Justice and the negotiations of the 'Luxembourg protocol' of 1971’

This article delves into the history of the negotiations of the ‘Luxembourg protocol’ of 1971, which conferred jurisdiction upon the European Court of Justice (ECJ) for the interpretation of the 1968 Brussels convention. The protocol provided a preliminary ruling procedure that had undergone restrictive modifications in comparison with the European Economic Community (EEC) treaty’s original (Article 177). Some have, therefore, interpreted the outcome of the negotiations as a sign that the mechanism was being criticised in national administrations.

Говорить по-русски в Люксембурге: пятиязычное развитие детей в поликультурных условиях

This essay is a case study which looks at interferences types in the mother tongues of two multi-lingual sisters ages 8 and 6 who each speak 5 languages. In addition to typecasting of mistakes, the influence of the predominant language on the mother tongue is shown and the areas of language and the most significant deformations are defined. The question of whether a multi-identity emerges through multi-lingualism is answered with a resounding no, and the lingual identity of children is defined as a hybrid.

Systems genomics evaluation of the SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cell line as a model for Parkinson’s disease

Background: The human neuroblastoma cell line, SH-SY5Y, is a commonly used cell line in studies related to neurotoxicity, oxidative stress, and neurodegenerative diseases. Although this cell line is often used as a cellular model for Parkinson’s disease, the relevance of this cellular model in the context of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and other neurodegenerative diseases has not yet been systematically evaluated.
